Educational Qualification for Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) Positions
1. Minimum Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard examination (or equivalent) from a recognized Board or University.
2. Specific Requirements for DEO in Certain Ministries:
- For DEO positions in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Ministry of Culture, a Science stream qualification with Mathematics is mandatory.
3. Applicability of Cut-Off Date:
- Candidates appearing for their 12th Standard exam can apply, but must pass by the cut-off date of August 1, 2024.
4. Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Degrees:
- ODL degrees are recognized for Central Government employment only if awarded by institutions approved by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Candidates must produce the approval letter during document verification.
5. Restrictions on ODL Programs:
- Engineering, medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, architecture, and physiotherapy are not permitted through ODL mode (except for specific IGNOU B.Tech. degrees awarded before 2010).
6. Document Verification:

One-Time Registration (OTR):
- All new applicants must register on the new SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in) using the One-Time Registration (OTR) process. Existing OTRs from the old website will not be valid.

SSC 10+2 CHSL Recruitment 2024 : Examination Center Selection:
- Candidates must choose three exam centers within their chosen region, prioritizing them in the application.
- Center selections are final. No changes will be allowed under any circumstances.
- The Commission reserves the right to:
- Cancel any exam center and relocate candidates to another center.
- Divert candidates from any center to a different exam center.
SSC 10+2 CHSL Recruitment 2024 : Examination Scheme:
- The exam consists of two computer-based tiers (Tier-I and Tier-II).
- Scores from examinations conducted in multiple shifts will be normalized using the Commission’s published formula (Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019) to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
- Tentative answer keys will be available on the Commission’s website after the exam. Candidates can challenge answers for a non-refundable fee of ₹100 per question within the specified timeframe. Challenges submitted online within the designated period will be reviewed before finalizing the answer key. The Commission’s decision is final. Challenges submitted via other means (letters, emails, etc.) will not be considered.
- The exam schedule is tentative and any changes will be communicated solely through the Commission’s website.
- The metric system of weights and measures will be used in question papers where applicable.
- Re-evaluation/re-checking of scores at any stage of the exam is not allowed. Correspondence regarding this will not be addressed.
- In case of discrepancies between the English and chosen language versions of exam questions, the English version will be considered final.
